I went into Target for only paper towels, I came out with much more.

Paper Towels
Not the best deal ever, but I needed paper towels.
Calculations:
$3.49 up&up paper towels
$0.50 Target coupon + 5% cartwheel coupon = $0.65 Off
$3.49 - $0.65 = $2.84

Then I saw that they had a sale going on for the cereal, and the hubby has been wanted some Crispex lately. The sale was buy 5 select boxes of cereal (which as far as I could tell was all of the cereal) and get a free $5 gift card.
Calculations:
3 boxes of Crispex at $2.99 ea = $8.97
1 box of Raisin Bran and 1 box of Reeses Puffs = $6.68
Subtotal = $15.65
$15.65 subtotal - $2 coupons - $5 gift card = $8.65
$8.65 total / 5 items = $1.73 each

Then I remembered that hubby wanted some ham and hoagies.

*I found Pepperidge Farm hoagies on sale for $2.39 from $2.99. Minus $0.50 coupon, the grand total for the hoagies was $1.89.

I used a coupon for the ham. Land o Frost priced at $3.99 - $0.55 coupon = $3.44 total.

*I had a coupon for a Lunchables Uploaded pack. Priced at $3.49 - $1 coupon = $2.49 total.

I had an ibotta coupon for an Evol burrito. $2 burrito - $1 ibotta coupon = $1 total.

Plus, I got a $0.10 discount for bringing in my own reusable bags.

On this shopping trip, I paid a total of $29.38 and saved a total of $14.14 or 34%. Mostly name brand, some off-brand. All stuff that we would've bought anyway.

*I forgot to use these two coupons! Oh no! Somehow they just stayed in my envelope. :( I've dealt with this once before, though. Fortunately, Target customer service is usually pretty good about redeeming coupons after-the-fact IF you don't make a habit out of it. If that doesn't work, I'll simply return those items and then re-buy them using my coupons. :)

I was really disappointed about finding that I let my $5 RR coupon expire. :(  It's so frustrating to plan out your shopping trip, score a free $5 coupon, and then never use it. It made me not even want to go shopping. But I went anyway. Gotta get back on the horse!

Deals:

Tampax and Always pads/liners/tampons on a BOGO 50% Off Sale
I had four coupons, so I bought four items.
Calculations:
$5.29 item + $2.64 item (BOGO item, regularly $5.29) = $7.93
$4.29 item + $2.14 item (BOGO item, regularly $4.29) = $6.43
$7.93 + $6.43 = $14.36 subtotal
$14.36 subtotal - $3.50 coupons = $10.86 Total
$10.86 total / 4 items = $2.72 each
I saved a total of $7.80.

Sensodyne Toothpaste, on sale for $4.99 (regularly $6.29)
I have to look out for deals on toothpaste for sensitive teeth because I need this goop! It's so expensive, too. I had one coupon for $2.50 off of two Sensodyne products.
Calculations:
$4.99 x 2 = $9.98 subtotal
$9.98 subtotal - $2.50 coupon = $7.48 Total
$7.48 total / 2 items = $3.74
I saved a total of $5.10.

Nestle Candy singles, on sale for 2 for $1 ( regularly 2 for $1.89)
I look out for cheap deals on candy/sweets because that's the only time I buy them. I'm trying to cut back, heehee. I had a coupon for BOGO Skinny Cow singles candies.
Calculations:
$0.50 + $0.50 = $1 subtotal
$1 - $0.50 coupon = $0.50 Total
$0.50 total / 2 items = $0.25 each
I saved a total of $1.39.

On this shopping trip, I spent a total of $20.71 and saved a total of $14.79. All name brands. All stuff I need or would have bought anyway.

(I found all of these Walgreens deals from the amazing BargainBlessings.com. Thanks!)

Ahoy, there! I went shopping today! I think my last shopping day (you know, the one with the 3 trips to Target) burned me out for a while and I haven't been to any store since that day. Two weeks ago? Three? I'm not sure. But I had to go today because we needed a few things.

So what I did was go around to my favorite couponing websites (click here for the list) and copied/pasted the deals I liked into a Word document. Click here for the full details on how I go about organizing my shopping trips.

I think I'm going to start making detailed posts about my shopping trips (in terms of sales/coupons/prices/deals) so that you can see how easy it is to find great deals. Sure, some of the deals have requirements (like buy 5, etc.), but if you just take a few minutes to sort out the details, you can end up getting a lot of free or incredibly cheap name brand stuff.

And remember: I only buy what I will actually use. If there is a great deal going on for, let's say, cereal, I'm going to get that deal...even if I don't need cereal at the moment. I can save the new boxes because I know that in a couple weeks (or days, if David is on a cereal kick), we're going to need some more cereal. And because I got such great deals and stockpiled a few boxes, I don't even need to go to the store and hope I end up paying less that full price.

Anyway, here are the awesome deals I got. I'll start with the complicated ones. :)

General Mills Special
There is a sale where if you buy 5 General Mills products, you'll get a $5 catalina coupon at the register for your next KS (King Soopers) purchase. So basically, I'm getting $1 off 5 GM (General Mills) items. Here's what I did:

Suddenly Salad is on sale for $1.50 each. I have a coupon for $0.50 off 2 boxes which doubles up to $1. I'm also getting $1 off per box with the Catalina coupon.
Calculations:
$1.50 Sudenly Salad + $1.50 Suddenly Salad =  $3 Subtotal
$1 Coupon + $2 Catalina = $3 off
$3 Subtotal - $3 Coupon Savings = Yay Free!

Betty Crocker cake mixes were on sale for $1.50. I had a coupon for $0.75 off two boxes Betty Croker products which bumps up up to $1 at the register. Plus, $1 Catalina per box.
Calculations:
$1.50 Cake + $1.50 Cake = $3 subtotal
$1 Coupon + $2 Catalina = $3 Off
$3 Subtotal - $3 Coupon Savings = Yay Free!

Cherrios were on sale for $2.77. I had a $1 coupon. Plus, the $1 Catalina.
Calculations:
$2.77 cereal - $1 coupon - $1 Catalina = $0.77 total

Whoa! I just spend $0.77 for 2 boxes of pasta salad mix, 2 boxes of cake mix, and a box of cereal. All name brand. THIS is why couponing is so great!

Aussie Hair Care Special
Select Aussie products were on sale for $2.50 each. I bought 3. I had a $3 off 3 Aussie products coupon.
Calculations:
$2.50 x 3 = $7.50 subtotal
$7.50 - $3 coupon = $4.50 total
$4.50 / 3 = $1.50 each (regularly $3.17 ea)

All brand Laundry Detergent
Select All brand laundry detergents were on sale for $2.99. I bought three 32 oz bottles because I had 3 coupons: $0.50 off one All item bumped up to $1, and $0.75 off one All item bumped up to $1, and $1 off one All item.
Calculations:
$2.99 x 3 bottles = $8.97 subtotal
$8.97 - $3 coupons = $5.97 Total
$5.97 / 3 = $1.99 each (regularly $4.27 ea)

Here are some less complicated deals:

French's Yellow Mustard (10 oz) was on sale for $1.25, regularly priced at $1.99. I had a $0.50 coupon bumped up to $1. Grand total = $0.25

Blue Bunny ice cream (1.75 quart) on sale for $3.99, regularly priced at $6.89. I used a $0.75 coupon bumped up to $1. Grand total = $2

Ruffles Potato Chips on sale for $2.50 each. I bought the Ultimate variety which regularly costs $4.29. I also had an ibotta coupon for $0.50. Grand total = $2

King Soopers had a special ecoupon for a free Tostitos Cantina chips or salsa. All you have to do is load the offer onto your Soopers card on their website. I chose the salsa. Grand total = FREE!

Regular Sales with No Coupons:

Hot/Lean Pockets were on sale for $1.88, regularly priced $2.34. I bought 2 boxes. Grand total = $3.76

Van Camp's Pork and Beans (15 oz) on sale for $0.50 each, regularly priced $1.29. I bought 4 cans because I love me some beans mixed with easy mac! Grand total = $2

I also bought some Little Debbie Cosmic Brownies ($1.77) to surprise hubby and some ground beef ($4.99) for dinner.

Including taxes, my grand total for the entire trip was $35.85. I saved a total of $34.83. That's 50% off!

And all I did was do a little research before going to the store. That's it. No sweat.

(I gathered all the info for these deals from DenverBargains.com. Thanks!)
